KATE MAHONEY, Hair Stylist/Make Up Artist/Gallery Coordinator/Owner

Weyburn, Saskatchewan

Kate is originally from Saskatchewan.  She moved to Banff from Kelowna after teaching and travelling through Korea, Japan, and Thailand.  She holds a Bachelor Degree in Visual Communications from Medicine Hat College and still pursues all aspects of fine art and graphic design.  She loves hearing about new artists that would like to show their talent at the salon.  She has worked with Aveda and TIGI.  She has trained at the Toni&Guy Academy in New York in 2008.  She is willing to take on any challenge that you can throw at her!

 

MEG TAYLOR, Hair Stylist/Make Up Artist

Bay of Islands, New Zealand

Meg has been living in Banff now for about 8 years.  She is a native of New Zealand, but is now a permanent resident of Canada.  Meg loves hitting the slopes in the winter and is never one to shy away from some down hill biking.  She is a very well travelled person and still enjoys escaping the mountains every now and again to see the sun and surf.  With all of her past travel experience she has developed a great skill for hairdressing from all over the world.  Meg's mom owned a salon while she was growing up in New Zealand, she has always been around the hair world and picked up her first pair of scissors at the young age of 12.  She is very experienced and will have no problems meeting your hair care needs!

 

ROWENNA LOUISE ROBB, Hair Stylist/Make Up Artist

Albury, New South Wales Australia

Rowenna comes to us from Australia.  She has been in and out of the Bow Valley for the last five years.  She began her hairdressing career at the age of 16.  After finishing her apprenticeship she travelled and worked as a stylist in Ireland, England, and now in Canada.  She has taken courses with L'Oreal, Redken and Aveda.  Some of the things that she enjoys doing with her time off is hiking and camping in the mountains, meeting new people and travelling this beautiful country.  Of course, you will always see her at the local music festivals as well!

   

NATALIA NEVPORNA, Hair Stylist

Winnipeg, Manitoba

We are so happy to have Natalia join us at Botega.  She comes to us with a great wealth of hair experience.  The salon that she worked at in Winnipeg was a Redken Platinum salon, giving her extensive education with colouring, cutting, and styling.  She has been an absolute pleasure to have in the salon and we look forward to many more days with her.  Oustide of the salon, you might catch her hitting the slopes at Lake Louise, perhaps running a marathon this summer or maybe even showcasing her photography in the gallery! 

 

FIONA WAITE, Hair Stylist 

Isle of Wight, United Kingdom

Fiona comes to us from the UK.  She has trained in the Aveda London Academy giving her very good experience with all hair types.  She has extensive knowledge with Aveda in both retail and their most up to date cutting and colouring techniques.  Her style is very funky and she loves to show it with her cuts and colours.  She has come to Banff to enjoy the mountains and try out some Canadian culture.  You will not be disappointed with her!

CORI STEVENS,  Jr. Stylist/Apprentice

Alliston, Ontario

Cori comes to us from Ontario.  She is new to Banff and very excited to learn all there is to know about hair. She will be working with the stylists to understand the working dynamics of the salon and will also be attending cosmetology school in the future.  We love having her bright positive attitude in the salon!  

 

CANDACE MCCONNELL, Make Up Artist

Vancouver, British Columbia

Candace joins the team as our "go to" make up girl!  She studied make up at Blanche McDonald in Vancouver and has now started up a freelance make up company in the Bow Valley.  She specializes in wedding makeup and will always make sure that everyone looks their best on the "big day".  For more information you can also visit her personal website at http://www.candyscreations.org/

 

MIIKA THE MEATWOLF, Beloved Pet/Salon Dog

Banff, Alberta

Sadly, Miika has passed on to doggy heaven, but is definitely still with us in spirit.  We LOVE having visits from other furry friends whenever possible.  Miika always loved to go on long walks and bike rides.  His favorite hike was up Tunnel Mountain with Auntie Megs.  He also liked waking up nice and early to make sure that Kate was on time for her clients.  He will be missed, but never forgotten.
